What is the Feldenkrais Method?

The Feldenkrais Method is a unique, highly effective approach to improving the way you move, think and feel. Feldenkrais can help you:

  • Recover fluid movement
  • Relieve pain and tension
  • Realise natural posture
  • Reconnect to your body

The Feldenkrais Method uses gentle, creative and fluid movement explorations to integrate our awareness of how we move and assists us to break habits and patterns that cause us to unnecessarily tense and hold our bodies. This chronic holding and lack of awareness predisposes us to injury and pain and inhibits our ability to move well.

How to Yoga and Feldenkrais differ from other forms of treatment?

Yoga and Feldenkrais are ACTIVE forms of treatment . They effect change in a sustainable way as you are doing the therapy to yourself rather than having it done to you in a passive way. This means you are changing your habits, patterns and your nervous system towards integration and body / mind healing.

I teach a breath centred or slow flown type yoga that can be adapted to all bodies and needs.

I also incorporate Yin Yoga , Mindfulness mediation , sound and yoga nidra (classic and Irest)

Feldenkrais principles permeate all my teaching which I believe supports my success as a Yoga Therapist .
