Margery teaches weekly classes in Annandale at The Neighbourhood Centre in the beautiful high ceiling, light filled upstairs hall.
The classes are a fusion of several styles of yoga and mindfulness practice; Viniyoga, slow flow, Yin Yoga and and Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement. Classes also include of mindfulness meditation, pranayama and Yoga Nidra.
Margery’s classes are run on a 10 week term basis and the classes progress throughout the term building on themes and complexity in asana practice gradually. There is an emphasis on building strength through slow breath based practice to improve posture and increase vitality . There is also a strong emphasis in Margery’s teaching on restorative yin style practice and relaxation which balances our busy stress filled modern lifestyle. Margery encourages Yoga practice that leads ultimately to the development of mindful awareness in daily living.
Yoga for beginners: Margery provides expert guidance for beginners in both her group classes and private consultations.
Margery also teaches 2 weekly classes for cancer patients and survivors at Chris O Brien Lifehouse. The classes are small and tailored to the needs of students undergoing cancer treatment and assist with reducing the side effects of treatment. Post treatment the classes are of great benefit for balancing mood, maintaining fitness and helping to restore energy levels.
